Louisiana Life

22"x 30" watercolor on 140 lb d'Arches paper. I painted
this several years ago when I had a studio in River Oaks
Art Center. I was painting more in watercolor at that time.
The painting is about Louisiana. It includes the
state flower, (magnolia) the state bird, (brown pelican)
and the state coffee (Community). I really don't
know if it is official but they adverise that they are
the state coffee. It is by far the most popular
coffee in Louisiana. I drink it every day.

Carol's Things

20"x 24" oil on canvas. I painted this for
my friend Carol Ann several years ago. The teapot
is the one I put in the painting I posted a few days ago
title " In Memory of Carol Ann". All the things
on this tablescape belonged to her.

Juciy Fruit

5"x 7" oil on masonite.
I am attempting a more impressionistic
style. When I compare these peaches with
the peaches I posted several weeks ago I think
I am getting a little looser.

In Memory of Carol Ann

Posted by PicasaThis teapot is a treasure. It was given to me
in 1988 by my dear friend of 30 plus years when I
moved into a new (to me)home. She loved adventure
and to travel. We learned to snow ski on a trip to Taos, NM
with my daughter Joy and her husband John. After that
we would not miss any chance we had to go skiing. She passed
away earlier this year. It is painted in oil on a
5"x 7" primed masonite panel.

from life is so much better.

Faded Sun

Posted by Picasa7"x 5" oil on masonite
These sunflowers were given
to me by my artist friend, Tom.
When I got back from a trip out
of town their droopiness and color
so reminded me of Van Gogh's
sunflowers. SOLD

Black Coffee

Posted by Picasa5 1/2"x 5 1/2"oil on primed masonite
I am a big time coffee drinker. I like it black
and unsweetened and always
have a cup with me at my easel. Sometimes
I even dip my brush in the coffee. And yes,
I have been known to take a big swig out of
the cup after dipping the brush into it.
This cup and saucer is in the same set
as the salad plate in the last painting
"Vine Picked".
